Omaru Falls (30 min)
We discovered these beautiful falls last year, way off the tourist trail - truly a hidden local gem. To get to the falls there’s a beautiful short walk along a river through farmlands, native forest, pine forest and past a strange pink pond (from the algae) and where you can often see native Tui birds feeding amongst the flax. When you arrive at the lookout, the view of the falls is breath taking - a 45 metres plunge down to the verdant forest floor far below.
